Provocative: 10 Male Movie Characters That Got Women Going
Yesterday was DVD night at the BWNG compound, we invited a few friends round and decided to let the women pick the movie. All five of them huddled into a team talk (because this was really a life or death decision and we didn’t think they were likely to pick a romcom, a Tyler Perry movie or a black movie…with Sanaa Lathan..which is pretty much every black movie) and after a couple of minutes they decided we all watch the BEST MAN (because we hadn’t seen that 50 times before). Insert DVD.
Now despite them seeing the movie 114 times this month they always seem to have the same reaction everytime Morris Chestnut’s character ‘Lance Sullivan’ is first introduced….just noise, pure noise, loud, orgasmic, loud and really loud. It’s something that’s repeated everywhere; right now women are reading this and going back to that moment in their heads, some are now smiling, some are now giggling (some have already put the DVD in to watch that moment) Concentrate!
It got us thinking about actors, characters and roles over the last few years that have got our lady friends excited and with Morris Chestnut already solidified we spoke to a few women (codenamed by colour) to get more 10 more movie characters that have apparently got women going.
Tyrese as Jody in Baby Boy
“That thuggish sexiness, he looked darn good. Didn’t like his childish behaviour or cheating but his intensity in some parts got me and of course the sex scenes helped” – Miss Pink
“He was the definition of SEXY” – Miss Purple
Ryan Gosling as Jacob in Crazy Stupid Love
“I’m attracted to his amazing gift and although I loved Blue Valentine, he was more attractive in Crazy Stupid Love. I was watching that sex scene CLOSELY” - Miss Orange
“He’s not even my type, I’m more of a Josh Hartnett kinda gal but in that film Gosling was hot” – Miss Green
Michael Ealy as Ricky in Barbershop
Miss Purple: That guy, that guy
BWNG: Who?
Miss Purple: The one with the eyes
BWNG: Ok so that cuts it down by 0%
Miss Green: Michael Ealy with the blue eyes
Miss Purple: Yes thats it, stupid
Spot him HERE
Paul Walker as Brian in Fast and the Furious
“I was ready to give it all up and move to the states for him. Haha seriously he was and still is soooo cute in that film.” – Miss Yellow
Omari Hardwick as Marcus in KICK-ASS
It was unexpected, you thought it was all nerds and comic book geeks then all of a sudden up pops a sexy police man” – Miss Blue
“He’s not pretty like Shemar Moore..I like that. Shemar Moore’s a pretty motherf***** haha sorry, Omari is all that” – Miss Brown
Boris Kodjoe as Kelby in Brown Sugar
“You KNOW a brother has to be fine as hell to make you vote against the happy couple getting together. Sanaa should’ve stayed with him. He’s a beautiful man” – Miss Grey
Taye Diggs as Winston in How Stella Got Her Groove Back
Miss Grey: The Body
Miss Orange: The Body
Miss Blue: The Body
Miss Purple: Yes, The Body
BWNG: So what you’re saying is….?
Adam Rodriguez as Sandino in I Can Do Bad All By Myself
“The film was whack but that doesn’t even matter. The fact that Rodriguez exists is enough for me” - Miss Red
Denzel Washington as Alonzo in Training Day
Miss White: Denzel Wasington in anything circa 90s and early 00s for me. It’s not even that he’s sexy he’s just handsome, fine and a man”
BWNG: Yeah the male part does it for most women strangely enough
Miss White: I liked the bad boy image he had, oozed confidence and a touch of arrogance. Love me some Denzel.
Miss Green: Yes
Miss Blue: Yes
Idris Elba in Daddy’s Little Girls
“I’ve been a fan from rhw Stringer Bell days. He’s all sorts of fine, tall, dark, handsome and rugged. Loved him in this movie, his character warmed me” – Miss Black
“Icing on the cake” – Miss Yellow
So there you have it. On Monday we’ll switch up with the women that get us going. Ladies do you agree? Is there anyone else you’d put on the list? Brothers what films have you had to hear your lady friends get excited through? Holla!
